Take-Two Releases A New XCOM Game In Silence… On Mobile [VIDEO]

XCOM Legends was brought out by Take-Two (2K… but same thing) out of nowhere, and it’s already available on Android in a few regions.

You can already find the game on the Google Play Store, but this squad RPG is in early access. It’s being developed by California-based Iridium Starfish, who have a direct link to Take-Two. Here’s what a 2K spokesperson told Eurogamer: „We are constantly exploring and testing new experiences to offer our fans the best entertainment and value… Iridium Starfish has soft-launched XCOM Legends in limited territories, but we have no further information to share at this time.”

XCOM Legends is a turn-based RPG that has a campaign mode in which you battle waves of enemies. You can also recruit new heroes who can then fight in PvP battles against the players that are controlling aliens. Progression will lead to competitive PvP modes getting unlocked, and there are also hero-specific „War Stories,” as well as daily challenges.

Here are a few blurbs from the press release: „Liberate the Earth in XCOM Legends, a brand new mobile turn-based RPG! Assume control of XCOM, one of the last resistance groups on the planet, and lead the charge to take back Earth from the tyrannical alien invaders known as ADVENT.

20 years have passed since Earth surrendered to the alien invaders. By the time we realized the alien threat, the war was already over and humanity was lost. To exterminate the last of the resistance fighters, the aliens have unleashed an untold, ancient evil. We now need your help once again, Commander, to assemble XCOM’s greatest warriors, both past and present and take back Earth. Are you ready?”, Take-Two wrote.

Let’s hope that Firaxis will soon get a chance to do a proper XCOM 3.
