Gun Media might be working on Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game, the development team that brought us Friday the 13th: The Game.
Fans on Reddit noticed that the URL: https://leatherfacethegame.com redirects to Gun Media’s website, and they have been teasing a new horror game for the past couple of months now. While this might all just be a happy coincidence, maybe we will get more evidence in the next couple of days or weeks. Kane Hodder, who did motion capture work for Friday 13th videogame, also teased that he is involved in another video game. However, it is not known whether this would be a singleplayer horror game or a multiplayer game like their previous horror game.
There was the last time there was a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game in 1982, and ever since then, no videogame was made for the franchise. However, the character’s influence has been seen in other videogames such as Resident Evil 4, and even Resident Evil 7 has taken a lot of inspiration from the films.
A new Texas Chainsaw Massacre film is set to release on Netflix this year, so there is a high chance that the company would try to capitalize on the hype of the franchise revival, and a game could be revealed around the same time. With October right around the corner, the timing would be just right to unveil this new horror game and tease with the movie.
Hopefully, we will find out more soon
