Arise Of Awakener: Dragon’s Dogma, But Not By Capcom [VIDEO]

While there’s a good chance that the Japanese publisher is working on a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, Gamera Game is also trying to do something similar with Arise of Awakener.

The game’s description says a lot: “Arise of Awakener is a single-player, open-map action role-playing game set in a fantasy world based upon medieval Europe. In this world, players will ride dragons, command airships, and partake in engaging combat encounters against a collection of fantastical creatures as they take on the role of an adventurer and embark on a path of revenge and redemption.”

The game (announced at the Tokyo Game Show) will allow us to choose from three playable characters. They are the Warrior, the Archer, and the Mage. We will get some fast-paced hack’n’slash combat, although the video doesn’t show it yet, as the game is early in its development. Still, our goal in the game is to go against all odds to become the “Awakened One”. What does the person who holds this rank do? Why is this rank so coveted? We have yet to hear answers, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we won’t hear about Arise of Awakener (what a weird name…) until 2022.

We can find towns to explore, open chests for loot, and get resources as well in this Dragon’s Dogma-inspired RPG with a name that sounds like a shovelware mobile title. It is going to launch in 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. We have no idea if it will be on Xbox Series, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch or not. There is also no information about a Western (English) localization yet. All we can do now is be patient and see what Gamera Game is going to do. At the moment, we wouldn’t be surprised if the game remains exclusive to Japan.
