If the leak is accurate, prepare to see a higher system requirement for the three Grand Theft Auto games than before.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has been leaking regularly. Even its achievements have surfaced, but we’re not going to list them because that only shows how we are getting close to a potential November launch. However, we need to discuss what popped up on the GTA Forums by alloc8or, who seemingly leaked the system requirements for the Unreal Engine 4 version of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Minimum system requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2700K or AMD FX-6300, or better
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 with 2 GB VRAM or AMD Radeon R9 280 with 3 GB VRAM, or better
- Free storage: 45 GB
(and while they don’t mention it, we suspect that a Rockstar Games Social Club account will also be required)
Recommended system requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64
- CPU: Intel Core i7-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, or better
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 with 4 GB VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 570 with 4 GB VRAM, or better
- Free storage: 45 GB
We can’t decide if we see shoddily optimized ports or if they just lifted over the mobile versions or not. Alloc8or also leaked some snippets of a possible press release, which we will quote, as they confirm what next-gen upgrades will be included: “Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all-new levels of detail.
