The Day Before: The Survival MMO Is No Longer PC-Only [VIDEO]

The Day Before open-world survival MMO is now planned to get two console versions on top of the PC original.

MyTona (the publisher) and Fntastic (the developers) announced that the gate to the game would open for PC players next summer. Still, aside from confirming the Steam launch date, the duo confirmed a PlayStation 5 and an Xbox Series version. Seeing how neither name is an AAA one, it’s safe to say that the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One got outdated since they launched nearly eight years ago, and perhaps the industry is moving on reasonably rapidly.

According to the game’s Steam page, “The Day Before is an open-world massively multiplayer online survival set in a deadly, post-pandemic America overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food, weapons, and cars. You wake up alone in a world you no longer remember, setting out to find answers and the resources to survive.

[…] Search abandoned vehicles, houses, and skyscrapers as you scavenge for resources. […] Crush the infected and other players with realistic weapons, becoming a legend of the new world. […] Explore beautiful yet dangerous places with stunningly detailed vehicles. […] Take part in the restoration of the former society before it’s too late. In the survivor colony, you can sell your loot and communicate safely with other players,” the Steam page says.

The Day Before, whose location and background setting is somewhat unfortunate (the post-pandemic United States… while the country is one of the most affected in the ongoing coronavirus global pandemic?), will launch on PC on June 21 after a delay. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions do not have a release window yet. A 2023 arrival might be on the cards here. The video below is courtesy of IGN.
