“The Rock”: A DC And Marvel Crossover Might Possible With Gal Gadot And Ryan Reynolds

MOVIE NEWS – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has consulted with the stars of Red Notice about the possibility of crossing the DCEU and MCU.

Could the stars of Red Notice be involved in a Marvel – DC crossover? That’s what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who stars alongside Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot in the new Netflix movie, believes. The film comes shortly after Johnson recently unveiled the first footage from the upcoming superhero movie Black Adam, in which The Rock makes his DCEU debut.

Gal Gadot is also part of the DCEU with her role as Diana Prince in the Wonder Woman films. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds has two successful Deadpool films to his name as a superhero, and Deadpool 3 officially brings the character into the MCU. Speaking to Variety about the possibility of a crossover, The Rock said that he’s already consulted with his co-stars in Red Notice about it and believes they could help kickstart such a project.

“I think there’s a crossover with Black Adam, Wonder Woman,” Johnson said.

“What we were just talking about today, was, I turned to Ryan and Gal, and I said, ‘There should be a crossover with Marvel and the DC universe.’ We can be the ones to possibly make it happen, so, we’ll see. We’ll see what happens down the road.”

The Rock has appeared in several blockbusters, but fans are particularly excited to see him appear as a superhero in the DCEU. As the title character in Black Adam, Johnson is teaming up again with Jungle Tour director Jaume Collet-Serra. Also appearing in various roles are Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate. Speaking about what to expect, Brosnan remarked wryly that Johnson would be “wonderful” in the film.

In addition, the DCEU continues to expand with Wonder Woman 3, with Gadot returning in the lead role and Patty Jenkins once again in the director’s chair. Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the original live-action Wonder Woman series, will also appear in the new film – though it remains to be seen exactly what role she will be seen in.

Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds is already hard at work on Deadpool 3. Since the funnyman character likes to break the fourth wall anyway, he could easily be the first to jump into the DCEU; or that Black Adam or Wonder Woman will appear in the film. A potential MCU and DCEU crossover movie would likely feature many other characters, though we wouldn’t be surprised if the idea first came in the form of some special cameo…

Red Notice is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. The action-comedy stars Dwayne Johnson as an FBI profiler and Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds as two professional thieves. The film will have a limited theatrical release from 5 November 2021 before becoming available to stream exclusively on Netflix on 12 November – our review will be available on the site soon.
