Call of Duty: Vanguard owners will have to wait a little less to try out the battle royale game’s new map, Caldera.
Call of Duty: Vanguard arrived on 5 November, and with its return to World War II in an attempt to please long-time fans of the series (too), Activision’s new COD episode has failed to match the commercial success of previous instalments. One possible reason for this is that it is forced to share the limelight with Call of Duty: Warzone, the franchise’s free-to-play battle royale game.
Warzone Pacific’s new map, Caldera, was initially scheduled for release on 2 December. Still, Activision has announced that it will be available to coincide with COD Vanguard Season 1.
In a statement, it was confirmed that both the new Season and the new Warzone map would have a release date of 9 December – unless you own Call of Duty: Vanguard, in which case you’ll have exclusive 24-hour access to Caldera so that you can try out the new map as early as 8 December.
The new Pacific map promises to be quite stunning, with its beautiful and wild tropical vegetation. The latest instalment in Activision’s popular war franchise is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox X Series X|S, and if you want to find out more about the series’ return to World War II, be sure to check out our Call of Duty: Vanguard review!
