MOVIE NEWS – Actress Ella Balinska has shared a teaser video with the expected release date for the Resident Evil series.
This year marked the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil saga, and fans have been treated to a year of news and content. On the cinematic front, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City has been released as a reboot of the franchise, which tries to stay faithful to the source material, but based on the reviews, it’s been received lukewarmly.
But Welcome to Raccoon City wasn’t the only project coming in 2021, Netflix’s animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness debuted on Netflix this summer, albeit with a predictable and unimaginative plot. As a last ray of hope, we now await Netflix’s live-action series.
The Resident Evil series is expected to arrive next year
The series unveiled its cast this summer, with familiar faces such as Lance Reddick, who played Sylen in Horizon: Zero Dawn, taking on the role of Albert Wesker. Reddick will be joined in the series by Paola Nunez, Ella Balinska, Adeline Rudolph, Tamara Smart and Siena Agudong. It was Balinska who shared the first teaser for the series on her Twitter account.
The short video teaser showed us one of the franchise’s most famous enemies, the zombie dogs. These T-virus infected beasts have been one of the dangers that have haunted the characters since the first part of the saga and are mainly remembered for how terrifying their presence was due to their high speed. The teaser concludes with the title of the series, which – at least for now – is simply “Resident Evil”, and the actress herself shared the video along with the 2022 date.
