[TGA] Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Picks Up Speed With New Trailer For The Game Awards 2021 [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Jim Carrey unveiled the trailer for the second Sonic movie at The Game Awards

Sonic has already carved out an important niche for himself in the world of video games, but that doesn’t mean he’s not looking for new adventures on the big screen. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has shown its first trailer in style at The Game Awards 2021. It was promised days ago: SEGA’s blue hedgehog would burst onto the gala with his new movie, with a trailer that promises risks, battles and, above all, a lot of speed.

The light-hearted tone of his first cinema experience returns tenfold, something we see in both Sonic and his companions. After all, this film will feature iconic characters in the franchise such as Knuckles, whose voice actor is Idris Elba, or Tails as the blue hedgehog’s inseparable companion. Therefore, it is clear that in this film we will find more references and winks to the games that have accompanied us since childhood.

The success of Sonic the Hedgehog is undeniable. Its premiere last February 2020 – shortly before the pandemic – served to show that the SEGA character could fit into the cinematic universe just as well as in the video game universe. With Jeff Fowler at the helm, the adaptation, distributed by Paramount Pictures, grossed $319 million, which may be much more with the new film in 2022.

Amidst all the action in the trailer, we’ll have to wait until 8 April 2022 to see this spectacle, so we’ve got a few months of trailers, posters and more material to promote Sonic The Hedgehog 2 ahead of us.
