The Creative Assembly team shared their thoughts on this hotly debated topic and integrating NFTs into Total War games.
The Total War series is evergreen, while NFTs have been a popular topic in the video game industry lately, as some companies betting on blockchain have significantly profited from it. SEGA is one of the many studios interested in, and due to their relationship with Creative Assembly for the upcoming Total War: Warhammer III, they were asked about the topic in a recent interview.
“We know Sega has said some things about it” – Mark Sinclair
Warhammer III campaign designer Mark Sinclair shared the studio’s vision with 3DJuegos. He says they have researched the issue thoroughly but always with caution, as they are aware of the community’s differences of opinion and concerns.
“We know Sega has said some things about it,” the designer said. “They have a relationship with Creative Assembly, so what they say they will do, but we are also looking at the issue with its environmental impact because we are aware of everyone’s differences of opinion and concerns.”
Sinclair says that entering the world of NFT is not something that can simply be done blindly, as it needs to be analysed exceptionally carefully. Still, he says the studio must accept SEGA’s final decision, further strengthening its trademark stakes in Japan.
In an interview with the developers behind Total War: Warhammer III, we also hear about their decision to ditch naval combat, as well as a possible console version of the RTS. In addition, the studio assures us that this game will be a perfect starting point for all players.
