Aztech Forgotten Gods, the latest game from Mexican studio Lienzo, will be released digitally in less than two months.
After nearly a year of waiting, Mexican studio Lienzo has finally given us the definitive date for when we can enjoy Aztech Forgotten Gods, a cyberpunk game inspired by Mexico’s pre-Hispanic cultures. The game will arrive digitally on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PC on March 10.
“We can’t wait for you to have the game in your hands” – Lienzo
Canvas shared the news via social media, asking the community to mark the date on their calendars, and stated that they couldn’t be happier to announce the highly anticipated date. “We honestly can’t wait for you to have the game in your hands,” the studio shared.
In the new trailer, we once again get to see Achtli, the protagonist we’ll be controlling in the adventure. With the help of cybernetic enhancements, she will be tasked with saving Tenochtitlan from the gods who threaten to destroy the entire Earth.
What would have happened if the Spanish conquest had never taken place? Aztech Forgotten Gods builds on this simple but intriguing question to show us a world utterly different from the one we find in history books, but without leaving the history and culture of Mexico, which Lienzo tries to put at the heart of the programme.
We had to wait longer than expected for Aztech Forgotten Gods, but in just over a month, we’ll find out what the creators of Mulaka have been up to. The title’s story will be made into a live-action film, courtesy of production company Impossible Dream Entertainment.
