Blizzard Is Working On A Survival Game Set In A New Universe

The title is aimed at the PC and console ecosystem, although Blizzard has not yet provided further details.

2022 has certainly been a rollercoaster year for Blizzard so far. Just a week ago, we learned that they were involved in one of the industry’s most talked-about acquisitions by Microsoft, which left a lot of unknowns and theories up in the air. However, the creators of iconic titles like World of Warcraft are still looking ahead and are already preparing for a game set in a new universe.

A brand new survival game is set to launch for PC and consoles

Here’s how a job posting from the company says the mysterious title will be set in the survival genre: “Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored.”

Specifically, the company is looking for level design, art, and engineering positions. No further details about the game have been revealed, but a user named Nibel, who is well known for finding information about games on the Internet, found a hint of extra details through the job postings: it will be a triple-A game. So we’ll probably have to wait a long time before the developers make an official announcement, perhaps under the Microsoft umbrella?

Of course, Microsoft’s acquisition has opened many doors for the company, and while Phil Spencer dreams of reviving forgotten franchises, it’s clear that there are new goals on the horizon for the Diablo makers. We’re curious to see when more information will be revealed about this mysterious title that has sparked the interest of many of us…
