Lost Ark Reaches the Top of Steam Sales Despite its Bumpy Launch

The free-to-play game has taken Valve’s store by storm with its content packs.

The month of February 2022 has been one of the most powerful in recent years, with long-awaited releases such as Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring. Aloy’s adventures in the forbidden west and Miyazaki’s last great challenge have remained some of the most anticipated games of 2022, but Lost Ark has undoubtedly given the surprise.

The free-to-play massive online action RPG set in the fictional land of Arkesia is proving to be quite the phenomenon, having made a smash debut with half a million concurrent players on Steam and taking the lead on Twitch. Lost Ark has also managed to reach the top of the Steam store, despite being a title that can be played for free.

As is usual with free-to-play games, players can purchase several content packs for the game. Lost Ark Vanquisher Starter Pack is the name of the content package that includes 2,100 crystals, a Marramiau pet to choose from, and 30 days of Crystalline Aura, among other benefits, all for a price of 64.99 euros.

This Vanquisher Starter Pack, together with the Explorer Starter Pack, have managed to conquer the list of best-selling games on the Steam store, all while the game was experiencing severe problems accessing its servers that even led the studio to delay the launch for a few hours.
