Cat Fans, Rest Assured: Developers Of Stray Confirm Game Coming In 2022

The long-awaited Annapurna title, Stray, was initially scheduled for the first quarter of this year but has been delayed.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the title Stray, you may have heard of this highly original programme as ‘Cat Game’. Stray is one of the Annapurna Interactive-backed projects that first caught the attention of gamers when it was announced at the PlayStation 5 launch, but since then, there hasn’t been much news.

No specific release date yet

Originally scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022, we’re now in March, and there’s still no confirmed release date. However, Annapurna has come out of its cave to calm the nerves and confirmed that the game would arrive later in 2022, clarifying why there were no new additions to the previous State of Play.

The game will come from the BlueTwelve Studio development team, who will try to offer us an adventure in which we take on the role of a stray alley cat in a cyberpunk world, whose aesthetic is made more colourful by the presence of neon lights and slums. With androids on our heels, we’ll have to traverse the city amidst all sorts of threats to solve the mystery that surrounds it.

As mentioned, Stray still has no confirmed release date beyond the promise that it will arrive later this year. Despite this, none of these drawbacks prevents it from being one of PlayStation’s most anticipated games for 2022, as the title will initially only be coming to PC (via Steam) and Sony’s consoles.
