The Elden Ring is not the first game used by the animal welfare organisation to raise awareness.
The Elden Ring has been a resounding success, with Hidetaka Miyazaki’s latest game achieving impressive debut numbers and already being named the best-selling game of 2022 in the US. The phenomenon that FromSoftware’s game has become hasn’t gone unnoticed by PETA, the animal rights organisation, who have taken to the streets and made a video with recommendations for a trip to the Midlands:
- Take your dogs for a nice walk around the lake!
- Convince the mercenaries not to prey on the horses!
- Observe wildlife from a safe and respectful distance!
- Visit an animal sanctuary!
- Share a moment of peace with the beautiful animals!
PETA concludes its video with the phrase “the animals of the Midlands deserve your respect” and encourages us to adopt a vegan lifestyle. Elden Ring is not the first time PETA has used popular video games to help make its message of respect for animals go viral, from petitions to include wacky characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate to a guide to veganism in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
