The Witcher Season 3 Starts Filming – Who’s The First New Character?

MOVIE NEWS – Henry Cavill has already met Hector at the start of filming for the third season of Netflix’s The Witcher in Slovenia and Italy.

Not only is a new The Witcher video game in the works, but filming has also begun on the third season of the Netflix series starring Henry Cavill. So much so that the British actor has already met a significant new character and his new friend Hector, who will play his horse.

Henry Cavill released the information on his Instagram page, but it was also already known from Redanian Intelligence, a portal specialising in novels and adaptations of the saga by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowsk, that filming for the third season of The Witcher had begun, with Cavill and Freya Allan taking part in the first days. A third actor has also been spotted, but his identity and role remain unknown.

The first days of shooting will take place in Lagos de Fusine, on the Italian-Slovenian border. The production is expected to visit both countries, as well as other locations in Croatia, and will be completed in September this year.

This third season comes after The Witcher proved to be one of the streaming service’s biggest hits. However, its future was already assured before it aired, with Netflix just a few months ago completing filming on a spin-off, The Witcher: Blood Origin, which takes place centuries before the main series. Returning to the upcoming production starring Rivian Geralt, few details are known about the plot, nor is there any news about the cast.

As we mentioned at the beginning, the future of The Witcher looks bright, as CD Projekt RED has begun the development of a new era for the franchise, but we don’t know much more about it yet.
