“Pathfinder is reminiscent of Hyper Scape, but it’s PvEvP, which is still in its very early stages.”
Ubisoft is always on the lookout for new ideas that will keep it one of the most successful companies on the market. According to an industry insider, Tom Henderson, the French company is currently working on a new third-person shooter game with Pathfinder as a possible codename.
Three different sources have confirmed the project to Henderson, and he has seen several images and video of an action-shooter title that resembles Hyper Scape.
“Players will have to get to a hub with a boss controlled by artificial intelligence.”
According to the journalist, Pathfinder aims to offer a more cartoonish visuals, where two teams of four must make their way to a hub dominated by an AI-controlled boss. The players must navigate a battlefield divided into two sections, containing external and internal obstacles, surrounded by a series of destructive gates. The gates change each game, ensuring replayability.
On the way to the finish line, both teams face increasingly difficult enemies. The characters have upgradeable unique abilities. Henderson also talked about a central hub where players can meet, train, have fun in vehicle races, etc.
According to the journalist, development is still in the very early stages, so there’s no telling when we might see this game.
Tom Henderson also said a few weeks ago that Ubisoft is also working on a new Prince of Persia game.
