Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons Usually Play Married Couples – Now They’ve Got Married!

MOVIE NEWS – Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons have married after meeting on the second season of Fargo.

Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are married. The former’s team confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter. Dunst and Plemons’ relationship began after they met on the set of Fargo’s critically acclaimed second season.

The pair began dating in 2016, shortly after the TV season aired. They got engaged a year after their relationship began.

The actors have two sons together. Their eldest child Ennis is four years old, while their second son James is 14 months old. No details about the wedding have been revealed yet, nor have any pictures been released.

In February, Dunst told the Los Angeles Times that she wanted to tie the knot with her fiancé soon. The interview comes as the couple are up for their first Oscar nominations, both for their performances in Netflix’s western The Power of the Dog – where, how could they not, they also played a married couple.

Dunst has spoken of how she and Plemons now consider themselves married.

She told the Los Angeles Times, “We call each other husband and wife. But we have to get married at this point. It’s ridiculous. We just haven’t planned a wedding. There was COVID, then we had another child. I didn’t want to be pregnant, get married, have a party and not be able to have fun with everybody.” Several factors forced them to postpone their plans, including a worldwide pandemic and a new baby. With the recent wedding, they finally made things official.

Given that their engagement had been considerably longer than they had been dating, the marriage had been a long time coming.

In the second season of Fargo, Dunst and Plemons played Peggy and Ed Blumquist. The characters are a married couple who find themselves in danger after Peggy accidentally runs over an influential crime family member. The fictional couple has spoken repeatedly about their hopes of having children. Ed’s death at the end of the season makes their hopes even more tragic.

Unlike the duo in the series, the real couple ended up having children together.

They received critical acclaim for their performances. They were both nominated for Emmy Awards the same year they started dating. It was the first time that both actors received award nominations from the same production. Although neither of them won a television award, it was arguably worth it for them to be involved in the project as they found each other.
