Battlefield 2042 May Get A Narrative Campaign – Not Just Anyone Is Developing It!

The Battlefield 2042 campaign is being led by none other than the new Marcus Lehto-led development team, Ridgeline Games.

Battlefield 2042 hasn’t been the success EA had hoped for, but the giant refuses to throw in the towel on one of its flagship franchises. That’s why, after a major shake-up at the developer, we’ve learned that Marcus Lehto, known as the co-creator of Halo, will lead a new team in Seattle. We now know the name of the team and their role in the shooter series.

EA’s official website has revealed the name of the studio Lehto will lead, Ridgeline Games, which will be involved in the franchise’s development with a “narrative campaign set in the Battlefield universe”.

The publisher has not shared any further details about Ridgeline Games’ work, so we’ll keep an eye out for more news on Battlefield 2042 as more information about the campaign comes to light.

“We’re continuing to invest in the future of the franchise by bringing in new talent and perspectives,” said Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn and head of the Battlefield series. “With Marcus and his team at Ridgeline Games joining the world-class global team we have already in place, Battlefield is in the strongest position to succeed.”

We’ll have to wait a while to see how this partnership develops, as EA is now focused on improving the experience of Battlefield 2042, which has already released its second season and is looking to add much-requested new features for season three. We also know that the company is looking to return to single-player campaigns after the fiasco of the last game, so we’ll get new ways to enjoy the story mode.
