Nomen est Omen: Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is Finally Coming to Steam

It’s about time! Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time appears to be coming to Steam – and, therefore Steam Deck – on October 18th. The news was revealed by Canadian YouTuber Guy Eh, who received a special package from Toys For Bob that confirmed the release date.

The YouTuber was delivered a pizza box from a fictional company called “Aku Aku Aku’s Steam-In Pizza Shack” with a receipt that read “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Coming to Steam October 18th.” Toys For Bob and Activision have yet to make the announcement on any of their social media accounts, and the game’s store page has yet to go live on Steam.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was released for PlayStation 4 in October 2020 and Xbox One. Subsequently, a current-gen version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as a Nintendo Switch version, were released in March 2021. A few weeks later, Crash Bandicoot 4 arrived on PC via Activision’s Battle Net launcher.

It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if Crash Bandicoot 4 appeared on Steam, as it wouldn’t be the first Crash game to come to the platform. Back in 2018, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, a year after it arrived on PlayStation 4.

However, the package sent out to influencers didn’t just tease the arrival of Crash Bandicoot 4 on Steam, as the bottom of the block read: “Hungry for more? Try our new Wumpa Pizza for $12.08.” For those who may be scratching their heads, The Game Awards will take place on December 8th (12/8), which many have interpreted as a new Crash game to be announced at the awards ceremony.

The Game Awards kicks off on December 8th and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley. Expect plenty of huge announcements from industry names and for the first time in 3 years the general public will be able to buy tickets to the event. More details about tickets can be found on the Microsoft Theater website.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Battle.net.
