MOVIE NEWS. It’s not an action movie, it’s not sci-fi, it doesn’t feature an orphan superhero saving the world, it’s not a cake-throwing comedy, but it will be a bombshell.
This is what they say about Christopher Nolan’s new work, Oppenheimer, which tells the story of the successful yet controversial life of the father of the atomic bomb. This will be Nolan’s first biopic, full of stars, but his name is the real guarantee of success. He is one of the rare directors who can achieve both critical and audience success, as evidenced by The Batman Trilogy, Origins, Between the Stars and Dunkirk. Tenet could also be included in the list, but this film failed, but not through the fault of the director.
The fate of Tenet was caused by the fact that the pandemic broke out around the planned presentation, so the Warner Bros. studio decided after a long struggle that the it will also be released on a streaming service at the same time as the cinema premiere. Nolan was so offended by this that he left Warner Bros. after two decades, even though all his success was tied to the company. He compiled a long list for the other studios of what the terms of the new contract were. They started negotiating with him, but Universal came up with a unique offer: yes. Thus, Oppenheimer is now produced under the auspices of Universal, and it will obviously not be the last Nolan opus with them.
