Call Of Duty: Warzone 2: Serious Bug Occurs For Players!

Warzone 2 is locking players out and asking them to buy Modern Warfare 2 – even if they’ve already bought it…

A bug has emerged in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 that will lock players out of the free-to-play game unless they purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This is a bit confusing: the two games use the same client launcher but are different products. Players should be able to download the new Warzone and play it without purchasing Modern Warfare II.

The problem seems to be widespread and, in most cases, occurs after players have played several games and try to start another one from the menu.

A pop-up window appears saying, “Purchase Modern Warfare II to access everything!” From then on, the game will not start. This seems to happen on several playlists, and restarting the game doesn’t help.

“I’ve played about 6 Warzone 2.0 matches since yesterday with probably no problems (I finished my last match a few minutes ago),” wrote Unf0cused. “Now when I try to play, clicking on Battle Royale Solos gives me the “Purchase Modern Warfare II to have access to everything” window (I’ve tried the other BR versions with the same result).”

Players have been able to work out how to work around some bugs, such as the community feed not working (which has now been fixed), but there doesn’t seem to be a solution for now. It’s certainly not intentional, as it excludes players who have already purchased Modern Warfare II.

There’s no mention of this particular bug on the Warzone 2 Trello board. However, they note that the “play again” button has been temporarily disabled, which may have something to do with it, and there’s no confirmation from other official channels.

Warzone 2 recently released a fix for a bug that prevented players from partying. Thus, it appears that the patch may have had unintended consequences.
