The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Will We Get Multiplayer In A Frist-Party Zelda Game?!

A Zelda fan has spotted an exciting detail in a store advert for Nintendo’s upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

A recent advert for the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hints that the game will include Nintendo Switch Online support. The reveal has led to fan speculation. Does this new information hint at some serious multiplayer gameplay? Unfortunately, the answer is probably much simpler than most fans hope.

Since the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo has revealed the bare essentials, revealing the most exciting information, in short, ambiguous gameplay sneak peeks.

A fan snapped a picture of the advertisement, which shows the Nintendo Switch Online promotion among the game’s main highlights. It’s conceivable that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could introduce the first multiplayer capabilities in a first-party Zelda game. More likely, however, is that Nintendo Switch Online support is meant to show that Tears of the Kingdom will also feature cloud saving. Another possibility is that it’s simply for future downloadable content.

No confirmation of the game’s possible online features has been made at this time. So any explanation for the Nintendo Switch Online preview ad is mere speculation. Nintendo is keeping details of the game under wraps for now. The company may go even further with the most anticipated title of 2023. It’s surprising fans with something big. Either way, the advert was enough to pique the curiosity of many.

Less than a year until The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is released. Hopefully, Nintendo will provide more details at a Nintendo Direct or Treehouse event. Although, given the company’s reluctance since the announcement of Tears of the Kingdom, it’s unlikely that too many details will be revealed before the game’s release. Perhaps at least the Nintendo Switch Online feature will be detailed.

What fans have seen so far in the trailers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom promises to be a familiar yet exciting new side to the Zelda franchise as a whole.

It looks like Nintendo will expand Breath of the Wild in combination with other Zelda titles, such as Skyward Sword. It’s been a long time coming, and there were high expectations for what Nintendo would deliver in the next instalment of the series. Next May, fans will see if the sequel meets or exceeds those expectations.
