MOVIE NEWS – Viewers and critics alike adore the horror film M3GAN, so just two weeks after its release, you can already know that there will be a sequel.
This is usually the case when the success of a production far exceeds expectations, but the story about the killer doll blessed with artificial intelligence was already told by the crew members on the set that it calls out for a sequel, it has so much potential. Allison Williams, one of the main actors and executive producer of the film, reported this to Variety, adding that a visionary was probably lost in it. As one of the main actors of the 2017 Disappear!, he already said on the set that this production was Oscar suspect for him, and indeed: the socially critical horror received the golden statue for the best screenplay, while three other Oscars was also marked.
Speaking of intuitions, Akela Cooper, one of the screenwriters of M3GAN, also had a vision. She only had the basic idea for the film, but Akela was driving when it dawned on her that the killer doll should be called Megan (the final name is an acronym made from a cybernetic name, Model 3 Generative Android). “All of a sudden I knew it could be Megan, because that’s the killer doll’s personality,” Cooper told Gawker. “There’s no way it could be Karen, for example, because she’s not like that.”
