Dead Space: Could There Be Another Game Sequel?!

The executive producer of Dead Space says there is “interest” in returning to the series.

Dead Space executive producer Phil Ducharme and creative director Roman Campos-Oriola have shared that they are keen to explore new ideas for the series after the remake’s release.

In an interview with GQ, Ducharme and Campos-Oriola talked about the recently released remake of Dead Space, looking back at how they adapted the original game from 15 years ago and how they reimagined the horror game.

The developers talked about how the horror genre was a niche genre in the mid-2000s. They believe the original game pushed horror towards success “before it disappeared off the map”. They added that the timing is now suitable for the series’ return.

On the subject of a future return of the series, Ducharme said that “it’s a hope that we have” and that there is “interest on [his] side and [he thinks] on Roman’s side – you can see his smile – in exploring Dead Space more.” There are ideas, for sure.

“We’re finishing this week, we’re going to be making sure that that launch goes well and that there are as few technical issues as possible. We’re gonna be heading out on vacation and then we’ll sit down and we’ll have those discussions within EA to say, ‘Well, what’s next?'”

That certainly sounds promising. Of course, it will be a while before this becomes another full-fledged DS game…
