Daredevil: Born Again: Could They Rewrite The Backstory Of Several Popular Characters?!

MOVIE NEWS – Daredevil: Born Again could change the canon of the original Netflix series by reviving the past of two key characters.

Photos from the set of the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again suggest that the series will feature some time jumps. This could rewrite the origin stories of Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, and Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, established in the Netflix series.

Even though Daredevil ended in 2018, fans have been waiting for Spider-Man: No Way Home, they’ve been hoping to see more of Cox’s Daredevil.

When the reboot Daredevil: Born Again was announced, it was confirmed that Cox would be returning. Since then, Cox’s Daredevil has also appeared in Disney Plus’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Cox and D’Onofrio are not the only actors from the original series who will return in Daredevil: Born Again. Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Punisher. New filming images reveal a little of what fans can expect from the Kingpin and Daredevil storyline. Specifically, the photos, which feature what appears to be a young Wilson Fisk as the actor, have sparked speculation about how the series will use flashbacks. In Daredevil, several flashback scenes were used to establish the origin story of both Daredevil and Kingpin. Joseph Adames’ post refers to flashback episodes. That means a significant part of Born Again’s eighteen-episode season could be devoted to flashbacks. It is unclear whether this means changing Kingpin’s origin story or simply exploring it more deeply. But it certainly opens the door to refinements to its established canon.

Kingpin may not be the only character to get flashbacks. Another newspaper photo appears to be set in Matt Murdock’s past, which means there could be potential changes or updates to his story as well.

Details on Daredevil’s potential flashbacks are even more scarce, but with eighteen episodes, the series will have plenty of room to explore its backstory as much as it wants.

With about a year to go until release, fans have plenty of time to speculate. We may soon find out how much of the series will focus on solidifying or changing the backstory of Kingpin and Daredevil. Whether Daredevil: Born Again devotes entire episodes to flashbacks or decides to focus on the present-day problems of these characters, the series will undoubtedly satisfy fans’ desire to see Daredevil and Kingpin become a bigger part of the MCU.
