Daredevil: Born Again: Behind The Scenes Photo May Reveal New Character?!

MOVIE NEWS – Daredevil: Born Again, starring Charlie Cox, is adding a new MCU character who could be a fan favourite from the Marvel comics.

According to a new photo taken on the set of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney Plus revival Daredevil: Born Again, it looks like Charlie Cox could get a new friend for Matt Murdock’s character. The shot briefly shows an unconfirmed character alongside Cox’s lawyer/superhero.

Daredevil: Born Again has already made several changes to the original Netflix series from which this version of the character was born.

While the new series is at least a revival of sorts, with Cox returning in the lead role, several notable changes have already been revealed. For one thing, several of the main characters from the previous series are not returning. These include fan-favourites Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), who previously played significant roles in the Daredevil storyline.

But it looks like Daredevil: Born Again wastes no time bringing in new blood. A new set photo published by People now features an as-yet-unnamed character. The character is played by actress Nikki M. James (Severance). However, while nothing official has been revealed about her character, industry insider Jason Kane/Greatphase seems pretty sure that she will be playing none other than Kirsten McDuffie from the Daredevil comics. If so, this will be the character’s debut in the Marvel Universe.

In the comics, Kirsten is one of Daredevil’s love interests. But more importantly, one of her defining character traits is that she more or less put it together herself to be Matt Daredevil. As an Assistant District Attorney, she spends most of her professional life working with Matt. This leads him to tease him and try to get him to admit that he is Daredevil. This friendship eventually turns romantic, and the two become romantic partners, even founding their law firm together.

This time around, the series will focus more on the legal aspect of Matt’s life, with Daredevil: Born Again adding even more lawyers to the writers’ room.

So such a change in perspective could open up the possibility of new stories that might not have worked in the Netflix series. The possible presence of Kirsten McDuffie is one such tempting possibility. But that doesn’t mean the superhero aspect is neglected.

Clearly, Marvel Studios has no intention of forgetting the action sequences in Daredevil. Especially as evidenced by Matt’s hilarious appearance in She-Hulk and the upcoming return of the Vincent D’Onofrio portrayed Kingpin. So it would be unwise to interpret this new info as a sign of a complete paradigm shift. But seeing new perspectives on a beloved character will be interesting.
