Michael J Fox: How Long Can He Live With Parkinson’s Disease? The Star Made A Shocking Announcement In A Heartbreaking Video! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The star of the Back to the Future trilogy, Michael J Fox recently spoke about how Parkinson’s disease affects his life and his acting career in a podcast. The 60-year-old actor revealed that he can no longer remember five-page dialogues and that he doesn’t think he will reach the age of 80.

Fox was diagnosed with the disease in 1991 when he was only 29 years old. He has been fighting the disease ever since, which causes damage to the nervous system and results in tremors, stiffness, movement coordination problems and speech disorders. The actor also founded a foundation that supports the research and treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

Fox said that he suffered several accidents and injuries in the past years due to the disease. Among others, he broke his arm, his leg and his spine. “These were all things when I said: ‘That’s enough’”, Fox said. “But then I realized that this is life. That’s what it is.

The actor added that he does not complain and is grateful for what he has. “I’m not angry or bitter or disappointed”, Fox said. “I just accept this condition.” Fox also admitted that he can’t imagine himself at 80 years old. “I don’t think I will reach it”, Fox said. “I don’t want to be negative or give up on myself, but this is a tough disease.”

The actor said that Parkinson’s disease changed the kind of roles he takes. He can no longer do projects that require a lot of memorization. “I can’t remember five pages of dialogue”, Fox said. “So I’d rather go to the beach.”

Fox’s latest role was in the Working It Out podcast hosted by Mike Birbiglia, where he talked about his own life and experiences. The podcast also features a video where Fox tries to eat an apple while shaking. You can watch the video here:
