[PSSC-2023] Fans Of Metal Gear Solid, Rejoice! – Long-Awaited & New Announcements! [VIDEO]

After months of rumours, leaks and speculation, the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake and remakes of the classic games have been confirmed.

The long-rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake was finally announced at Sony’s recent PlayStation Showcase event. As well as the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 set! These MGS games have been leaked for quite some time, but now fans finally have official confirmation.

Snake Eater is notable for being the earliest game in the Metal Gear Solid series in terms of time. So while it’s the third numbered instalment in the series, it makes sense to start with it if Konami hopes to remake Hideo Kojima’s games instead of trying to create brand-new MGS experiences.

How the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 will feature any significant differences is yet to be seen, as the announcement trailer provided few details.

The CG trailer for the remake showed the “Naked Snake” sneaking through the jungle. But other than the fact that the game is coming to PS5, it didn’t reveal much else. What may excite fans even more than the confirmation of the remake is that MGS Master Collection Vol. 1 has been announced. This will give fans of the franchise the chance to relive classic games on modern platforms.

The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has no release date. The Master Collection Vol. 1 set is confirmed for release in Autumn 2023. This collection will include the original versions of the first three games. Since the announcement was made during PlayStation Showcase, all fans know for sure is that the collection will be coming to PS5. However, insiders say it could also come from other platforms like PC and Xbox.

While fans are still waiting to find out if the MGS Collection Vol. 1 will be released on non-PlayStation platforms. But in the meantime, it has been confirmed that the Snake Eater remake will indeed be multi-platform. It has also been clarified that the game’s official title is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and that the original cast will return. This means that David Hayter is likely to reprise his role as Snake.
