The 2023 Summer Game Fest event kicked off with the surprise unveiling of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a new PoP game in development at Ubisoft. The title was once a staple of Ubisoft’s franchise, but no significant new game in the series has hit shelves in over a decade.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was announced at Summer Game Fest 2023 with an exciting trailer confirming a release date of January 18 2024.

The Lost Crown takes the PoP franchise back to its 2D platformer roots. It places a strong emphasis on action, boss fights and puzzle-solving. Some fans might prefer something more in line with the 3D-action games of the PS2 era. However, based on what has been presented so far, the game still looks very impressive.

Fans will have to wait until next year to play through The Lost Crown for themselves. However, they won’t have to wait nearly as long to get another look at the game. Ubisoft is holding its own special event called Ubisoft Forward as part of Summer Game Fest. It’s scheduled to take place on Monday, June 12 at 10 am and promises to offer another look at The Lost Crown. Although it’s not yet known exactly what will be shown at the event.
