Xbox Game Pass: The First July 2023 Update

Microsoft’s service update is trying to pull a ten-year-old game out of the bag this time.

We’re not joking because the first game already available is Grand Theft Auto V (console, i.e., Xbox Series and Xbox One; cloud), first released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox One. The other game that’s also already available on Game Pass is Sword and Fairy: Together Forever (console, PC, cloud). McPixel 3 (console, PC, cloud) is coming today, followed by the next update on the 11th. Then, Common’hood (console, PC, cloud) and Insurgency: Sandstorm (PC) will join the service, followed by Exoprimal (console, PC, cloud, launching as a new release on Game Pass) from Capcom on the 14th, and Techtonica (console, PC, cloud, Game Preview, Game Pass launch) and The Cave (console, cloud) on the 18th.

In terms of DLCs and updates, the Barbie movie has resulted in two Barbie-themed cars appearing in Forza Horizon 5 (1956 Chevrolet ‘Barbie Movie’ Corvette EV, 2022 GMC ‘Barbie Movie’ Hummer EV Pickup), FIFA 23 has got the Women’s World Cup, Hi-Fi Rush has been beefed up with the Arcade Challenge! update and two paid content titles are on the list. The first is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Battle of Zhongyuan, which subscribers can get at a 10% discount. The other arrives later today, Sniper Elite 5’s Kraken Awakes DLC, also 10% off.

There are two Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks. One is for gambling addicts (the EA Play Ultimate Team Pack for Madden NFL 23, available until July 31), and the other is for pirates (Sea of Thieves: Obsidian Banjo Pack). There are three Game Pass quests: a daily challenge to earn 50 points by getting an achievement in any game, 5 points for playing Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Ultimate subscribers can earn 250 points for hitting 100 orange Pegs in Peggle 2. On July 15, three games will be leaving: Exo One (console, PC, cloud), Paw Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls (console, PC, cloud), and Spelunky 2 (console, PC, cloud).

It’s more than nothing…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
