Xbox Game Pass Tragedy: Incredibly Popular Games Leave The Service In July!

Microsoft has confirmed that five games will sadly leave the Xbox Game Pass subscription service at the end of July 2023.

Microsoft has officially confirmed which five games will leave the Xbox Game Pass subscription service on July 31. Whenever Microsoft announces new Game Pass games coming soon, it always mentions the games that will be going from the service.

Recently, Microsoft announced new Xbox Game Pass games coming in the second half of July 2023. These include first-day games Techtonica, which is now available in early access, and Venba, which is scheduled to join the service on July 31. Since July 31 is the last day of the month, it’s also the last day that five games will be part of the Game Pass library.

July 31 will be the last day Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play Dreamscaper, Expeditions: Rome, Marvel’s Avengers, The Ascent and Two Point Campus.

Four of the five games are available on the cloud, Xbox consoles and PC. So their removal will have a significant impact. Expeditions: Rome is a PC Game Pass-only game. It has received excellent reviews, and subscribers to this service will probably be sad to see it removed from the offer.

Xbox Game Pass games leaving on July 31:

  • Dreamscaper (Cloud/Consoles/PC)
  • Expeditions: Rome (PC)
  • Marvel’s Avengers (Cloud/Consoles/PC)
  • The Ascent (Cloud/Consoles/PC)
  • Two Point Campus (Cloud/Consoles/PC)

Another game that Xbox Game Pass subscribers may be sad to see removed from the service is Dreamscaper. An action game that has received mostly positive reviews. It definitely flew under the radar, so subscribers may want to play it through their subscription while they still have the chance. Those who try out Dreamscaper through Game Pass and want to play it after it’s removed can buy it at a 20% discount while it’s still available.

In the meantime, Xbox Game Pass subscribers who love co-op games may be annoyed by the removal of Marvel’s Avengers and The Ascent.

Marvel’s Avengers failed as a live service, but it still has vital elements that make it worth playing for hardcore Marvel fans. Especially if they have some friends to play with. The Ascent, meanwhile, is an isometric cyberpunk action-RPG that was once a Game Pass game on day one. Although it received mixed reviews, it’s a shame that it was removed from the Game Pass offerings.

Two Point Campus was another Day 1 Game Pass game when it first joined the subscription service. It received a much better reception than The Ascent. That said, Game Pass subscribers should at least give these games a try to see if there are any they want to keep in their digital library.
