Actor Roger Clark Also Shares His Opinion On The Negative Impact Of AI Technology!

Roger Clark, the iconic actor in Red Dead Redemption 2, clearly does not favour using AI technology in singing videos.

Roger Clark, the actor best known for his memorable portrayal of Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, is clearly not a fan of AI technology being used in music covers or memes. Considering his prominent role in one of the most successful Rockstar games of all time, Clark’s stance carries considerable weight. It prompts an instructive discussion on the relationship between technology and creative integrity.

As artificial intelligence develops at an increasingly frightening pace, more and more critics are expressing concerns about the potential risks and ethical problems associated with the development of AI.

One of the main concerns raised by critics is the potential loss of jobs due to automation. Arthur Morgan of Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to share this view.

In a recent TikTok video, Clark calls artificial intelligence “plagiarism software”. Presumably referring to the fact that actors’ likenesses can be used without their permission. The actor also refers to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood. The SAG-AFA and SAG-AFA are strikes by actors and writers against film studios in order to get a fair remuneration for their work. A sinister warning accompanies Clark’s comments on the Hollywood strike. He warns meme fans that if they continue to share AI-generated material on the internet, that’s all they’ll end up with.

With the rise of AI, actors are at risk of having their images stolen. They are used to make it look like the actor is in an unauthorised production. This potentially opens the door for studios to use performers’ images without permission or compensation.

It is undeniable that AI-generated content can be very entertaining. Many people enjoy listening to music covers created by AI. Or watch realistic deepfake clips seamlessly incorporating their favourite actors into mainstream movies.

Even in the games industry, many exciting gameplay opportunities can be created by AI-generated content, such as in the case of the Skyrim mod, which uses AI to generate memories for many of the game’s NPCs.

Nevertheless, the actor in Red Dead Redemption 2 makes a valid point. Indeed, the increased use of AI technologies raises several questions about copyright infringement and intellectual property rights. It remains to be seen how society will deal with this challenging problem in the future.
