MOVIE NEWS – A new biography reveals that billionaire Elon Musk asked his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard to play his Overwatch character Mercy when they were still together.
Elon Musk is always in the news for one thing or another, whether it’s his acquisition of Twitter/X, his planned fight with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, or even just his opinion on his favourite video games like Overwatch.
His personal life has become even more of an open book after the release of a new biography on 12 September, the very succinct “Elon Musk”.
Walter Isaacson, the author called him “man-child”, followed the CEO for two years, revealing exclusive details such as another strange child’s name. Isaacson also gave further insight into his passion for games. This included his relationship with Musk’s love life.
According to the book, Elon asked his then-girlfriend, the actress Amber Heard, to cosplay the Overwatch character Mercy for him. He reportedly asked her when they were on the set of DC’s blockbuster movie Aquaman. Heard played the female lead in the film.
Isaacson only said why he wanted Amber to dress up as Mercy, that Heard reminded him of the Overwatch hero, but he didn’t go into details. Apparently, even Musk himself saw the hype surrounding Amber’s cosplay. He decided to respond directly to Dexerto’s tweet to confirm. He even shared a photo of himself in the cosplay!
The tech billionaire’s response was, of course, a big hit, with thousands of likes as fans praised the cosplay even further for the similarities between Amber and the outfit.
Mercy’s character is a guardian angel who promotes peace, with both powerful attacking and healing abilities. Her balance of offensive and defensive abilities still makes her one of the most popular choices for Overwatch 2 players. At the time of writing, Elon did not elaborate on why he chose Mercy. Amber Heard also did not address the claims made in the biography.
Musk, along with Ben Affleck, was also among the many celebrities who participated in the 2023 Valorant tournament.
