Asus ROG Ally 2 Set for 2024 Release?! Is the New Asus ROG Ally Arriving This Year?

After attempting to compete with the Steam Deck, Asus is now doubling down on its efforts with a second-generation model. The Asus ROG Ally 2 is real, and its release window has already been set.

According to Arnold Su, the Vice President responsible for Consumer and Gaming PCs at Asus India, the revised version will be available in 2024.

There’s no doubt that the Steam Deck has revolutionized the technological landscape. Asus was among the companies that tried to enter the portable console market with their own offerings. While it’s true that the Asus ROG Ally didn’t reach the popularity level of Valve’s platform, the team has now been given a new opportunity. As stated by Arnold Su, the Vice President for Consumer and Gaming PCs at Asus India, the second generation of the device is already on its way.

Although not delving into the specifics of the revision, an interview with Techlusive media reveals the existence of this new platform: ‘It’s highly likely that we will launch the second generation [of the portable console] this year. We will retain the Windows features but will focus more on video games.’ Therefore, an announcement can be expected in the coming months.

According to Asus’ analysis, this business segment is profitable due to the latest trends in the gaming world: ‘Casual gamers tend to buy laptops suitable for gaming that can also be used for everyday tasks,’ the manager continues. ‘Hardcore gamers still prefer desktop PCs, but the majority of casual gamers are not likely to choose desktop PCs. Thus, the experience of portable consoles is tailored to this user group.

Many raised their eyebrows when Asus announced its entry into the portable console sector, but their latest device has fulfilled many of the expectations in several respects.
