This BioShock Fan Pays Tribute To The Legendary Game Series In A Clever Way!

An artistic fan has shared his recreation of BioShock’s iconic radio, showing the franchise’s influence beyond video games.

An innovative BioShock fan has shared a short video showing off a lifelike reproduction of the game’s radio. The project has caused excitement among fellow fans of the franchise. The iconic video game series hasn’t received an official new instalment in over a decade. However, the community continues to provide content for fans.

First released in 2007, the original BioShock took players to the underwater city of Rapture – memorable characters, enemies and objects from the game are often brought to life by fans, including the iconic radio.

BioShock fan RadMax117 has shared a short video of a working recreation of the radio from the original game in the series. When players first arrive in Rapture in the game, they are instructed to pick up a shortwave radio. This is used to communicate with various characters and receive quests and story dialogue. Using an old walkie-talkie, parts from various model kits, flashing LEDs, and a Bluetooth speaker, RadMax117 was able to reproduce a radio that looks, sounds, and functions like the device in the game.

In the voice used in the recreated radio, we can hear a short line of dialogue from Atlas, one of the most iconic characters in the BioShock franchise. Fellow fans applauded the craftsmanship. They noted how much effort was required to make the radio not only visually impressive but also to make the device functional.

BioShock continues to influence fans and developers alike

Fans often speak of their love for the BioShock series, particularly praising its intricate storytelling and stunning art deco aesthetic. As fans continue to draw on the game series’ creative sources, video game developers sometimes show hints of inspiration from the beloved franchise. Games like Clockwork Revolution have featured similar art designs to the series, and game creator Ken Levine’s upcoming game Judas has many similarities to the franchise.

Given the popularity and uniqueness of BioShock, it’s no surprise that fans and developers alike can find inspiration in the visuals and story of Rapture and beyond.

As audiences await details on Netflix’s upcoming BioShock movie and hope for a fourth instalment, fans continue to keep the series engaged with unique crafts and thoughtful conversations. The BioShock community remains as dedicated and enthusiastic as ever.
