Until Dawn: Could An Actor From The Game Return In The Movie Adaptation?!

MOVIE NEWS – The cast of Until Dawn continues to intrigue fans, who say one of the actresses from the video game hinted that she would return in the film adaptation.

Fans of the video game franchise are eagerly awaiting the cast of Until Dawn. According to some, Jessica Riley’s actress, Meaghan Martin, hinted that she will not only return for the PlayStation 5 remaster!

Until Dawn is a third-person interactive horror-drama video game released in 2015 by Sony for the PlayStation 4 to massive critical acclaim.

The game featured notable actors who did voice work and motion capture, including Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, Jordan Fisher, Brett Dalton, Peter Stormare and Martin. A remaster of Until Dawn was recently announced for PS5 and PC during State of Play and is expected to be released later this year. Also announced on January 17th was the film adaptation of Until Dawn by David F. Sandberg and Gary Dauberman. Screen Gems has described the latter as a love letter to the genre, centred around an eclectic cast.

Martin recently answered questions about his projects in development during an Instagram Q&A, including confirming that he’ll be back for some new work on the Until Dawn remaster.

When a fan asked him if he would ever make a horror film, he also said yes. He stated that he is currently working on one. From all this, some fans concluded that this references the movie Until Dawn. No cast members have been announced yet. But fans have already started casting. And the biggest wish is that the actors of the original Until Dawn return to the film, adapted to their age. After all, according to many, they were already cast perfectly. Some of the characters, such as Ashley’s actress Galadriel Stineman, share her love of the game to this day. So, it is not out of the question that they will accept the offer if they are asked to return to the film.

Many wonder how the Until Dawn movie will be structured, considering that the game takes advantage of the butterfly effect, allowing players to choose different paths and which characters will survive.

There seem to be some deaths that the community can consider “canon”. The latter characters have few play options and can easily die in quick-time events. Undoubtedly, some characters will die in the film as well. The only question is who (and what) the creators consider canonical…

Some fans said they didn’t see the point of the Until Dawn movie. Considering that the game is already quite realistic. It plays out like a movie. Given that the eight-hour game (longer if players aim for 100% completion) has plenty of essential story moments, fans are at a loss as to how it would fit into a movie. After all, the maximum can be three hours. (Though that’s unlikely for a horror movie.) Maybe the movie could be interactive, like Netflix’s Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. The viewers could make the decisions. People have even suggested that the movie Until Dawn should have different endings in different screenings. Such was the Clue (1985) at the time. The film’s three endings featured three different killers…
