Counter-Strike 2: Is The Game Finally What Valve Dreamed It Would Be?!

Counter-Strike 2 is at its best moment in history. You broke the concurrent user record twice in one month!

The launch of Counter-Strike 2 was much more eventful than we expected. The new version of the tactical shooter came with technical issues and much less content than the previous version. All this resulted in a noticeable decrease in players in the first two months of the title’s life. However, the negative context only motivated the developers, who released dozens of updates and patches to complete what promises to be a historic comeback. The game is now at its best. He broke the concurrent user record for the second time in less than a month.

Counter-Strike 2 is back on top

Last Sunday, Counter-Strike 2 peaked with 1,618,685 concurrent users (after SteamDB). This figure is the highest ever for this particular version of the game. For the entire franchise – including Global Offensive and previous versions – it is the highest since the beginning of last summer. The positives don’t stop there.

In the last month, CS2 surpassed CSGO’s numbers for all of March, as well as the latter’s numbers at launch.

Maintaining the trend in the coming months will not be an easy task either. But there’s no indication that Valve’s work is over. The developer continues to improve the game and add more content. The rotation of active courses unchanged since the end of 2022 (if you include the Global Offensive era) may also be on the horizon. In the coming months, it may be possible to introduce the first operation – or other event – in the history of CS2.

Valve officials assured users that while the launch fell short of expectations, early access is the fastest way to make Counter-Strike 2 the version of the game we all want to enjoy. We’re not saying we weren’t suspicious of this plan, but after all these months, it looks like they were right.
