First Furiosa Reviews Are In: Is It Up There With The Best Mad Max Movies?!

MOVIE NEWS – Here are the first reactions that Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga received and it seems that the audience really liked the movie…

The first reactions to the Mad Max spinoff Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga are in. Will the prequel live up to the legacy of 2015’s Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road? Or will Furiosa simply fall into the dust? Well, according to the signs, there was plenty of diesel in the film. Many called it a “visceral triumph” and “action filmmaking at its absolute best”.

“#Furiosa is EPIC in every sense of the word! The world building and lore expansion of the Mad Max universe is front and center to a bombastic film with some explosive, exciting action” – reads one of the early reactions.

Another stated that Furiosa “operates in an extremely different gear than Fury Road (in ways that I suspect will frustrate some people), but also manages to make that movie even richer while carving its own legend in the wasteland.”

Additional reactions described Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga as a “visceral triumph”. “An epic trip through Miller’s scorched wasteland that spans decades.” as well as “2-and-a-half hours of colorful mayhem”. The movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa. Also, Marvel star Chris Hemsworth as the evil Warlord Dementus.

“George Miller’s #Furiosa is powerhouse action filmmaking at its absolute best!” reads the reaction from Fandango’s Erik Davis. “A ferocious & relentlessly paced epic that expands the story of Furiosa and the Wasteland while delivering the craziest chases, the most bombastic characters & just plain stunning cinematography.” Meanwhile, filmmaker Edgar Wright calls the Mad Max spinoff “intricate, detailed, and immersive.” Applauding the vision of director George Miller and calling Furiosa “a feast for your eyes and ears, a full circle to the first Max adventure in 1979.”

After this, we can rightly hope that the film will live up to the expectations attached to it. We don’t have to wait much longer. The premiere is May 24, 2024.
