Tuesday, May 21, promises to be particularly sad for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. Because at least 34 (!) games will be removed from the range on this day. PS Plus Extra gives subscribers access to a vast library of games, including some of the best PS4 and PS5 games ever made. In addition, new games are regularly added, but there are times when some titles unfortunately leave. However, the service rarely handles such carnage in a single day.

Generally speaking, most of the time, more new games are added to PS Plus Extra than removed, but there are definitely times when the departures outnumber the arrivals.

Sony has yet to announce what new games will be coming to PlayStation Plus Extra in May 2024. So it is not yet known what the ratio will be this month. But with 34 games leaving, it’s hard to imagine how the newcomers will measure up.

So, a whopping 34 games are leaving in May 2024. All games are scheduled to be removed on Tuesday, May 21. Of these, 25 games have been added to the “coming soon” section of PlayStation Plus. Users discovered two other titles that ended up on their PlayStation Store page. Beloved PS4 exclusives Horizon Zero Dawn and Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning are also reportedly set to be removed on May 21.

PS Plus Extra is sure to have some big guns coming out in May 2024. Horizon Zero Dawn is arguably the biggest departure, but fans will definitely miss the Final Fantasy games, which are also disappearing. May 21 will be a bloodbath for Final Fantasy in the service, as Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15 and World of Final Fantasy will also disappear! This is definitely disappointing, but hopefully, some new features will make up for it.

Sony has yet to announce what new games will be coming to PS Plus Extra in May 2024, but more information should emerge in the coming weeks.

It’s highly unlikely that there will be enough new games to fully replace the 34 titles leaving on May 21. Hopefully, there will be some big news to help fill the enormous void that will soon be created in the PS Plus Extra library.
