Death Stranding 2: On The Beach: Important Development Revealed By The Director Himself!

Hideo Kojima dropped an important Death Stranding 2: On The Beach update, which brings some promising news.

It seems that ever since Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was first announced at The Game Awards 2022, fans have been hungry for new information about the highly anticipated sequel. The title, developed by Kojima Productions, is the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 game.

At Sony’s State of Play online event earlier this year, we saw a new trailer for the sequel, but it’s true that in typical Hideo Kojima fashion, the latest trailer left us with more questions than answers.

“Sam – with companions by his side – sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction,” reads the very vague description of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. “Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected?”

We can look forward to the PlayStation 5 exclusive Death Stranding 2 at Summer Game Fest next month. But lead developer and creator of the Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima, has given fans a promising update.

As reported by Famitsu (thanks to ), on a recent episode of Japan’s NHK radio show, Hideo Kojima revealed that filming and filming recently wrapped for the cast, which includes Normal Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker too.

It may still be a while before we see new footage from the sequel, but at least we know that production has reached an important milestone.

Hideo Kojima is famous for not rushing games to meet tight deadlines. This is probably one of the reasons why it has been so successful over the decades. Death Stranding 2 is expected to be no exception.

At the time of writing, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach does not yet have a firm release date. However, it was previously confirmed that it would be released for PlayStation 5 sometime in 2025. As always, we’ll let you know as soon as we get more information on the sequel.
