Square Enix wants to make a big splash with the third part of Final Fantasy VII Remake – by giving the player more freedom and new mechanics.
Have you finished Final Fantasy VII Rebirth yet? It is quite a long game, which can even exceed 100 hours. Although not perfect, it ended up being one of the year’s best titles. Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is still several years away. However, it is clear that Square Enix is already working hard on the title. One of the keys to the Japanese studio’s streamlining of processes is that they retained most of the developers who had already worked on Remake and Rebirth.
However, some details about what Square Enix wants to do with the third instalment of Final Fantasy VII Remake have been revealed, confirmed by Rebirth’s leading developers in the latest episode of Inside Square Enix on YouTube.
Automaton translated the participants’ statements, and some of them set big goals for the next part of the series. At the end of the video, each of them mentions what we can expect in the next title of the subseries.
Shintaro Takai, the art director of Rebirth, spoke first. According to him, the design team is still not 100% satisfied. He assures everyone that everything is being done to make FF VII Remake Part 3 even more detailed.
The title’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, also says, “We really want to give fans a different gaming experience than what they got in Remake and Rebirth. I strive to finish it as soon as possible while ensuring high quality.”
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 brings more freedom and new mechanics
Teruki Endo, the director of the fight scenes, mentioned that for the next part, he wants to “give the player even more freedom” and also wants to introduce new game mechanics.
It is clear that Square Enix is already working on completing the trilogy: the Japanese company wants to release the title in 2027.
What’s more, according to the game’s director, the third part of FF VII Remake takes place in the same place as Rebirth, when the first game was released. So, it looks like Square Enix is on the right track.
