Roger Moore’s Grave Desecrated By Vandals – What Could Be Behind The Attack?!

MOVIE NEWS – Roger Moore’s grave was vandalized in a small cemetery in Monaco, where a fan was shocked to find that the decorative shield was missing from the grave…

According to a new report, the grave of the late James Bond actor Roger Moore has been vandalized. The latter comes from a fan who visited Moore’s gravestone to pay his respects to the movie star. Moore’s career began in 1945 with small roles in Perfect Strangers and Caesar and Cleopatra. Later, he gained recognition by portraying Simon Templar in the TV series The Saint, which ran between 1962 and 1969.

This led to him landing the role of 007 in 1973’s To Live and Let Die, which was just the beginning of his iconic Bond legacy.

According to TMZ, a fan of Roger Moore paid a visit to the Cimetière de Monaco, the small cemetery in La Colle, Monaco, where the late actor’s remains are kept. His family crest was said to be on the tombstone, so he was easily recognizable. But as soon as the fan discovered the site, he was surprised to find that some vandals had taken the shield. He told the press that he was “equally shocked and upset” that someone would desecrate a grave like this, especially one of such a beloved figure.

The fan notified the authorities after discovering that Roger Moore’s grave had been desecrated. However, they had no idea that this had even happened. TMZ went so far as to contact the cemetery, but they, too, had no idea about the vandalism. All of this means that either it happened recently or Moore’s grave had not been visited for some time, so the missing shield went unnoticed.

Roger Moore left a lasting legacy on screen and television

Roger Moore was born on October 14, 1927, in Stockwell, London, in humble circumstances, the son of a police officer. He entered the film world after his father investigated a robbery at the home of filmmaker Brian Desmond Hurst, who later met Moore and cast him as an extra in the 1945 film Caesar and Cleopatra.

As the years went by, he landed more roles, and his good looks even allowed him to model in the 1950s to supplement his income.

His big breakthrough came in the crime drama The Saint in 1962, where he played Simon Templar, a man who uses his own self-judgment to help those who the legal system has let down. This role was enough to get him noticed by director Guy Hamilton, who in 1973 gave Moore the role of James Bond in the film To Live and Let Die.

Although there is fierce debate over who the best James Bond actor is, Roger Moore is often cited as a favourite by those who grew up during his tenure on the screen. Moore played Bond seven times between 1973 and 1985, most recently in John Glen’s A View to Kill. His seven appearances are the most by any actor in the Bond films produced by Eon Productions.
