Bloodborne: if it’s Not Coming to PC, Emulation is an Alternative! [VIDEO]

The ShadPS4 emulator has come a long way in the last few weeks, but it’s already capable of running FromSoftware’s much-neglected PlayStation 4 exclusive.

The PlayStation 4 is not an old platform, so emulating it still needs a lot of work (and even the PS3 has some bugs!). So any development is good news, including what GeorgeMoralis shared on YouTube. He demonstrated how the ShadPS4 emulator version 0.1.1 runs Bloodborne. The game itself isn’t playable yet, but you can boot up and get to the character screen, which sounds very promising for the future.

The more modern a platform, the more complex it is, although the PlayStation 4/Xbox One pair is a bit simpler as they already have x86-64 architecture processors (the PS3’s Cell processor was more challenging), and since modern computers have them (apart from the Snapdragon chips that have already appeared in laptops, as they are ARM-based), it wouldn’t be a big surprise if the game, which was released for the PlayStation 4 over 9 years ago, became playable in no time.

The city of Yarnham could be explored on PC one day… although you’ll need a sufficiently modern configuration, and it won’t be an official port, but emulation is better than nothing. Bloodborne could be a good remaster for PlayStation 5, which could then be ported to PC, as the Souls games are very popular with the public. Just look at Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earth Tree. The DLC is very popular…

There is another PlayStation 4 emulator in the pipeline (FPPS4), but ShadPS4 looks more promising. One Piece Odyssey, Persona 5 and the Resident Evil Origins Collection are already running on it, so for such a young project, it’s coming along really fast. The only question is, when will Bloodborne be fully playable on PC?
