This Neglected Game Mode Could Be the Real Star of EA Sports FC 25?!

The developer has revealed all the changes to EA Sports FC’s 25 main single-player game modes.

The makers of EA Sports FC 25 have been hearing the same criticisms of the career mode over and over for years. The last few games in the series back in FIFA days made the mistake of neglecting the single-player experience too much. Electronic Arts was well aware of this, but they didn’t respond to the complaints very well. However, the new part of the soccer game changed everything. This year, the single-player mode will steal the show, according to the developers who are preparing for the big launch!

EA Sports FC 25 makes significant improvements to the career mode

Although not only in the career mode, one element that makes the single-player experience even more immersive is the improvements to tactics and strategy. The new “FC IQ” system allows us to create a game model with a depth – based on what we saw in the preview alpha – that we wouldn’t expect from EA Sports FC 25. In addition to being able to choose a preferred style or formation, we must progress from player to player, choosing their role on the field. Even if you sign the same player under two users, he will still behave differently on the field, depending on the role we assign him.

These tactical improvements create a solid foundation, making team building even more customisable. Thanks to the partnership with Opta, the developers assigned specific roles to each player. A player who performs his specialised role will perform above his rating. But if we force it to do something it is not used to doing, it will be less effective. This means that in a transfer window, it will not be good to buy only the highest-rated player. We need to make sure it fits into our game model. Even if they occupy the same position in a scheme, what two different players do in a football game is not even similar. Well, it will show in the matches.

These new tactical adjustments have had the side effect of changing the way development plans, the transfer market and the scouting of young players.

The integration of Rush also strengthened the Academy. From time to time, friendly tournaments will be played according to the rules of this new football format integrated into EA Sports FC 25, which we will be able to play with our youth players. We will have the option to use them with their current score or their maximum potential rating to test both their current and future performance. The idea is to know how they will perform in a “real world” scenario.

The return of pre-match cutscenes or the integration of women’s football into the career mode are also significant improvements. Moreover, we’ll even get what EA Sports calls “live starting points.” This new form of career mode allows you to take control of a team based on the actual, real-life situation.

Electronic Arts is getting closer to RPG

Many people feel that one of the best parts of soccer games is the “movie” we make in our heads. The “mental story,” as the pundits call it, is why we prefer guys from the youth academy or start a guy with an 80 average over a 94. The problem is that EA Sports neglected this important aspect of the career mode, and the good news is that the new FC 25 has many changes that make the game more interesting.

The last big problem that Electronic Arts wants to solve with the career mode changes in EA Sports FC 25 is the gameplay. The developer’s approach to online play never really worked in single-player mode. Therefore, they added a “gameplay type called simulation” to the game, which is “slower and intended to bring the experience closer to what we would expect from a real football match”. This is the icing on the cake, which will hopefully please fans of the solo game.

EA Sports FC 25’s career mode still has room for improvement. Some want a better system for switching teams during careers. Lots of people have been asking for an online feature that allows for online co-op play. However, this appears to be a statement of intent on the part of Electronic Arts. We don’t know if it’s because of the intense competition, goodwill, or fan pressure, but EA’s message is clear: single-player still matters.
