The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: A Quick Recap Before the Launch [VIDEO]

Nintendo is already in the home stretch with the new Zelda, in which Link will not be the main character, and not only that, but it may have some surprises.

Nintendo hasn’t released a 2D Zelda since 2019. That’s when the Switch-exclusive The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake was released, bringing it from the Game Boy/Game Boy Color pairing to the present day. Half a decade later, Nintendo is once again catering to two-dimensional gamers with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom… but with a twist, as Zelda will be the main character! So far, it’s been very rare that it’s not Link who saves Hyrule, so the announcement of the big N comes as a surprise.

It’s up to Zelda and her wisdom to save the kingdom of Hyrule in an all-new story in The Legend of Zelda series. The people of Hyrule are being stolen away by strange rifts that have appeared, and a certain swordsman is among the missing. Team up with the mysterious fairy Tri and use the power of the Tri Rod to create echoes – imitations of things found around you. Then recreate those echoes whenever you want to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Use echoes of water blocks to reach new heights, build bridges out of old beds, hurl rocks at enemies-or find your own creative combination of echoes to do things your way. You can even create echoes of monsters to fight at your side in battle. Join Zelda on her quest to save Hyrule.

You’ll be able to fight monsters with monsters, and you’ll be able to use Tri to create echoes (although you’ll also have to use the Tri Rod). The release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom isn’t too far away, as we’ve just mentioned, with less than two weeks to go. The game will be coming to Nintendo Switch on September 26th, as an exclusive title of course.

The only question is how well it will sell. It is, after all, one of the last major first-party titles on the Switch.
