The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu: Lovecraft Horror in the Jungle! [VIDEO]

The Ace Team and Nacon bring you Cthulhu, but this time it’s not on a sinking island, but in a slightly different setting…

In cooperative play with up to four players, you form a group of explorers in search of treasure. In this cursed jungle, danger is everywhere and monstrous creatures are altering reality. Keep your wits about you and tame the jungle before it devours you. Join a team of explorers on a treasure hunt. Aboard your galleon, prepare for each mission by selecting weapons and equipment before embarking on your adventure through the cursed jungle. The further you progress, the greater the danger you’ll face before you reach the gates of a legendary subterranean world where unimaginable riches await.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is inspired by the stories of H.P. Lovecraft, with their oppressive and unpredictable atmospheres. Here, the supernatural forces don’t just hunt you down: they distort your perception of every situation to keep you off balance. With diabolical creatures and unexplained phenomena, the line between reality and illusion becomes blurred, sowing doubt and paranoia among your party.

Survival depends on communication and mutual aid. But as the madness sets in, the hallucinations intensify. Can you still trust your perceptions, and do you really have time to assess the situation? One bad decision, one missed shot, and the mission could turn into a disaster. Each expedition takes you deeper into a dense jungle where more dangers lurk and madness threatens to overwhelm you.

So we’re in for a co-op horror game, something that hasn’t been done much lately when you add in the Lovecraft legacy. For this reason, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu could be interesting, so the developers will play with our time… but that’s to be expected, because that’s what makes it a good horror game.

The game will be released sometime later this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, but it wouldn’t be a big surprise if they delayed that to 2026…
