MechWarrior 5: Clans: Despite Its Poor Performance, It Still Gets DLC!

Although the situation of Piranha Games and Enad Global 7 has not been very good, the game will be expanded in a few weeks.

Enad Global 7, the publisher of MechWarrior 5: Clans, began the year by announcing that the game had underperformed (i.e. it did not sell well and consequently the number of players was below average) and that 38 employees of developer Piranha Games had been laid off. This does not have much impact on the latest installment of MachWarrior, as the game is still supported. A DLC has been announced called Ghost Bear: Flash Storm and we already know that it will be released in April.

Ghost Bear: Flash Storm will continue the story of MechWarrior 5: Clans, as the 12 new missions will do just that. You’ll have the chance to lead the Silveroot Keshik command unit. We will also have access to four new OmniMech and four new BattleMech, as well as the Elemental Point, led by Star Commander Rook. Then there are the Elementals. These are genetically engineered infantrymen who fight in clan battle armor with jetpacks on their backs. That’s their name because they can fight in any element. This will come in handy as the story will also feature combat on the outer hull of the Ghost Bear’s command ship, the Grizzly.

Ghost Bear: Flash Storm also promises to address complaints about the lack of customization options in MechWarrior 5: Clans with an expanded MechLab that will allow players to tweak their mechs and swap out their engines. So Piranha Games will continue to try to expand the game (albeit in a truncated form), because although you would think that after the cuts and the financial failure they would quickly write the game off, the opposite is happening.

The Ghost Bear: Flash Storm DLC for MechWarrior 5: Clans Ghost Bear will be released in April. Hopefully, fans of the franchise will be sufficiently engaged by the content expansion.
