Lionhearts – Medieval MMO-Sim Seeks Support on Kickstarter! [VIDEO]

After its Roblox success, Credenzio wants to turn Lionhearts into a full-fledged Unreal Engine 5 game, but they need players’ financial backing to make it happen.

Credenzio Studios has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Lionhearts, aiming to raise at least $100,000. The campaign has already passed the halfway mark, sitting at $54,632 at the time of writing. Previously known in Roblox as Lionhearts: Crusade, the experience has drawn over 6.3 million plays since its 2018 debut. Now, the developers want to rebuild the idea as a standalone game using Unreal Engine 5.

Lionhearts is planned as a persistent multiplayer feudal simulator, inspired by games like Mount & Blade: Bannerlord, Assassin’s Creed, Helldivers, and EVE Online. It takes place in a historically accurate 12th-century setting during the Third Crusade. The developers emphasize that they will uphold historical authenticity, creating a world with minimal or no NPCs, where real players make all the meaningful decisions.

Players begin by earning favor in the kingdom to rise through the ranks of military, religious, or commercial power. Each career path offers different ways to amass wealth, land, and influence. With 16 factions, 14 types of guilds, and 4 religions providing over 60 specializations, players can rise to become knights, blacksmiths, bishops, merchants – or even kings – eventually claiming power over the Holy Land.

There are 12 player-controlled kingdoms and 4 military orders, where every position of power – from lord to king – is held by real players. Participants can command entourages, go to war, and navigate diplomacy in a constantly evolving struggle for control. Leaders must maintain a balance between internal politics, trade, and religion as they fight for dominance in the Holy Land and beyond. Credenzio promises an MMO-like persistent world built with server-grid technology that links multiple servers into one seamless shared open world – no instancing, no server switching, no loading screens.

This is a bold and ambitious project for an indie team – but a downloadable visual demo is already available on the Kickstarter page.
