Everything Has Changed for the Creators of Silent Hill 2 Remake, and That Means Players Will Be Getting Plenty of Games in the Coming Years

Bloober Team is going through a major transformation, and that will directly affect the pace at which its future games arrive. The company has effectively announced a restructuring of its leadership team while expanding its technical capacity so that it can handle seven projects at the same time. Bloober Team’s internal core group is working on two games, one of which has already been described as a single-player horror experience built on strong gameplay foundations, premium execution, and themes that connect with audiences on a deeper emotional or social level. The remaining titles will be handled by its co-development arm, Broken Mirror Games, which has already started work on Layers of Fear 3.

The company confirmed both the internal shake-up and the new multi-project approach in a statement sent to GamesIndustry. CEO Piotr Babieno explained that they do not want to work on fewer than two productions, because relying on a single title would create too much risk in today’s market. At the same time, they do not want more than two internal flagship productions either, because quality, focus, and creative vision would inevitably begin to suffer. In his view, two core productions represent the right balance between ambition and responsibility.

As things stand, several projects are known to be in development at Bloober Team. These include the remake of the first Silent Hill, Project M, which is planned for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, Project H, the new game from the developers behind Cronos: The New Dawn, and the already announced Layers of Fear 3. It is very possible that some of these titles will surface publicly in the coming months, because a previous interview already suggested that Bloober Team is facing an intense 2026 and is preparing announcements related to its next wave of releases.

The point of the plan is to avoid surviving through layoffs

More than a few people may understandably feel uneasy seeing the creators of Layers of Fear and The Medium grow into something closer to a horror-game corporation. Babieno insists, however, that the goal is not blind expansion, but smarter and more sustainable growth that does not depend on future cuts. He says the studio is not interested in growing simply to inflate numbers, because players do not need a constant flood of content either. What they want, in his view, are experiences that feel distinctive, meaningful, and worth remembering years later.

Babieno also stressed that the studio is being careful about how it grows. The aim is not to expand as fast as possible, but to preserve sustainable development, financial discipline, and long-term stability. He argues that this matters because many members of the team have already been with the company for years, and long-term collaboration builds a stronger foundation than rapid hiring ever could. He made it clear that he has no interest in building a company that grows irresponsibly and then solves its own problems through layoffs. The intention is to come out of the industry’s current turbulence stronger, and to do it together.

As part of the leadership restructure, Bloober Team also announced that Thaine Lyman, previously of Activision and Wargaming, will become head of the studio. Katya Baukova, whose background includes CD Projekt and Techland, will take on the role of business development director, while Michał Gembicki, coming from Klabater SA and CD Projekt, will serve as head of publishing. According to the studio, more details about the projects currently in development will be shared soon.
